Quem é a atleta que dançou na cerimônia de abertura da Paralimpíada Rio 2016

Bronze no Snowboard da Paralimpíada de Inverno 2014, Amy participou da abertura dos Jogos do Rio com um número especial de dança

Aos 19 anos, a americana Amy Purdy teve sua vida mudada após contrair meningite bacteriana – ela teve que amputar as duas pernas abaixo do joelho. Porém, a jovem não deixou a doença decidir o seu destino. Se tornou paratleta de Snowboard e levou medalha de bronze nos Jogos Paralímpicos de Inverno Sochi 2014. Além disso, ela participou da 18ª edição da Dança das Estrelas, programa americano.

Aos 36 anos, Amy adicionou mais um grande feito à sua vida de atleta: participar da abertura dos Jogos Paralímpicos Rio 2016. E o melhor: com um número de dança incrível. Por isso, a comparação com a famosa modelo – que atuou da abertura do Olimpíada – foi inevitável: “Ela é nossa Gisele“, comentou Marcelo Rubens Paiva, diretor criativo da cerimônia. 

Em seu instagram, Amy compartilhou fotos ensaindo samba e passeando pelo Rio. O resultado foi a linda apresentação que emocionou o público :

I'm on a mission to learn stand alone handstands (like all those hot Instagram yogis 😜) & my trainer just showed me this brilliant tip! Doing a handstand against a shoulder height box makes you balance the majority of the time on your own but the box is there if you need it!
